Father's House with Chris Cole (founder of Cross Rhythms ministry)

Sat 6th July 2pm-5.30pm, The King's, Pixon Lane, Tavistock PL19 9AZ

In life there are good times and bad times. Following Jesus when things are straightforward is great but what happens to our faith when we go through times of trial and suffering? Do we question or blame God for the challenges and turn from our faith? Or do we find a richer and truer expression of what it means to be a Christian?

Following several months in hospital in the winter of 2023/24 undergoing severe and debilitating health conditions, Chris Cole will be sharing about finding God and deepening our faith in the midst of suffering. As well as drawing on his personal experiences, Chris will reflect on the way in which the persecuted Church across the globe are tremendous examples to us in the Western church of what it means to follow Christ whatever the cost.

"Care Cafe - for those experiencing loss"

Lower Hall, Tavistock Methodist Church, every second & fourth Tuesday

This will be run & hosted by TMC and is for anyone at all who is grieving, has been bereaved, who is facing a life-limiting or terminal illness, or who is looking after someone who is seriously ill or dying - in short, for those experiencing loss. We are seeking to provide a safe, friendly environment where folk can have a cup of tea/coffee and a chat, perhaps with one of our volunteers or with other guests who may be going through a similar experience. Or just come to be quiet, in a safe friendly space.

We cannot offer counselling, but those helping will have completed an awareness course and can lend a compassionate listening ear. Please spread the word and mention to anyone you know who may like to come. Contact: .

"English Language Conversation Cafe"

5-7pm, Tuesdays, at the United Reformed Church, Russell St, Tavistock

She is looking for volunteers to help host a table, to make tea and coffee and to bake cakes. The first conversation cafe ran very successfully on Tuesday 28th June and it is planned to run each Tuesday. Do get in touch with Pam if you would like to be involved - .
