Do you miss singing? Why not join an exciting project to form Tavistock's own Virtual Christian Choir this Christmas?

Being arranged & produced by Tracy Harding (Tavistock Methodist Church), this specially recorded Christmas song will be available for sharing via all sorts of social media with friends, family, and beyond!
To be part of the choir you will need to film and record yourself singing along with Tracy and the backing track, which is much simpler than it sounds!! The more people that take part, the smaller your face will be on the screen so spread the word and encourage others! This isn't a project just for amazing singers, it's for anyone who enjoys singing at any level (including those who've never sung before)! No one will be 'featured ' and it will be voices joined together. Your singing doesn't need to be exact and perfectly in tune!
Please contact Tracy AS SOON AS POSSIBLE - PREFERABLY BY THE END OF MONDAY 7th DECEMBER for more info! This won't commit you to anything! taharding@hotmail.com.
Help spread festive cheer this Christmas with a fun thing to be part of and a lovely thing to share! For an example of what can be achieved, see this link - you may recognise someone in the choir!

Tavistock Living Advent Calendar

TACT have joined with businesses and organizations in Tavistock to create the Tavistock Living Advent Calendar.

The churches of Tavistock will be sharing the Nativity story through five displays that can be seen either in church windows or outside the church building.

Families can follow the trail to see the Nativity Story unfold and see other Christmas displays in the shops and business of Tavistock.

The Nativity trail includes; 'Gabriel appears to Mary' at Abbey Chapel, 'The journey to Bethlehem' at Tavistock Methodist Church, 'A baby is born' at St Eustachius, 'The shepherds and angels' at the United Reformed Church and 'The Wise Men' by the Salvation Army.

Try to find the hidden Christingle at each church and collect a letter in each display to find the hidden message.

More details of this can be found on the Tavistock Living Advent Calendar page.

Need a  LISTENING EAR….?  Need someone to talk to….?   Phone 0800 774 7238

During the Coronavirus crisis TACT churches are working in association with Tavistock Locals Help to provide a service to local people. So we  have set up a free phone service for anyone in the Tavistock Area who needs to talk to someone and there are 16  experienced volunteers from across the local churches who are waiting to give you a friendly welcome and time to talk. The service is running every day from 10am to 5pm initially for three months.

TACT "RISEN 2020 - at home"

Wishing you a very Happy Easter and I pray that this message finds you safe and well..

This is just to let you know that in the last few days resources have been put together to enable us to have a taste of our usual RISEN celebrations which would normally have taken place in the Town Hall on Easter Monday evening.
These include a short talk by Rev Jeff Moles, songs previously written especially for RISEN by local Christians (and recorded afresh this year), a "Mary Magdalene" meditation, links to some favourite Easter hymns, and intercessory prayers.

"RISEN 2020 - at home" will be posted on the TACT Facebook page from 6pm on Easter Monday.

Find us on Facebook:  @TACTTavistock or search for Tavistock Area Christians Together

Our thanks go to all the contributors and to Tim Biggs who has lined up the resources and set up the page to enable this to happen.

Please visit the page if you have Facebook and "like" and share it to spread the word

Corona virus update

23rd March 2020: Unsurprisingly, most (if not all) of the activities and events on this website are currently suspended due to Government guidelines to restrict the spread of corona virus. We're leaving the information up so you can see what we do normally!

TACT churches are looking to offer help to the wider community and we hope to bring details of these initiatives soon.

Tavistock Foodbank 'Needs List' Jan 2020

Tavistock Foodbank was unsurprisingly very busy over Christmas - however, as well as lots of people in need, blessedly they also had huge amounts of food donated by very generous people. So at the moment the only need is small packets/containers of washing powder and washing-up liquid.

To visit the Tavistock Foodbank website, click here. All donations are very much appreciated by those in need. You can leave donations at both Co-ops, Tesco and Morrisons.

TACT Pentecost Party in the Park 2018

On Sun 20th May, crowds came to enjoy a TACT party celebrating the birth of the Church - see more here.

Tavistock Passion

On Good Friday 2017, over 1,500 people came to Tavistock town centre to see the Tavistock Passion - a dramatic retelling of the Easter story in a outdoor community production organised by St Eustachius' Parish Church and supported by many churches and organisations in the area. For more details, visit the St Eustachius webpage.

TACT Faith Action Audit

At the end of 2013, TACT commissioned and carried out an audit of faith in action among all the faith groups in the Tavistock area. You can download a copy of the report here: Faith Action Audit
