Living Creation

Three Discussion and Study Groups 2024, Tavistock Parish Church Centre
2.15pm on 15, 22 & 29 October

Please view this PDF document for more details (NB: the dates on the PDF have since been adjusted to those listed above): Living Creation 2024

These three ‘Living Creation' studies are free of charge and open to everyone. They will be informal, and will include bible reading, discussion, reflection, and worship. They are intended to be sociable as well as spiritual occasions.

We will meet in the Tavistock Parish Church Centre, situated next to the Bedford Hotel on Plymouth Road, Tavistock. There is no parking at the Centre, but the Bedford Car Park (Canal Road, PL19 8AU) is only two minutes' walk away.

The purpose of the Groups is to deepen and strengthen our understanding of God's creation and how we as Christians should respond to the ecological crisis in which the world finds itself. Together, we will explore what ‘Living Creation' means to us in our lives, actions, and witness as followers of Jesus. The groups will be led by Patti & Bob Owens, Readers (Licensed Lay Ministers) who live in Tavistock and minister in the Church of England Benefice of St Eustachius, Gulworthy, and Brent Tor.

PRAYER & STILLNESS GROUP

Would you like to join a group of Christians who meet for an hour each month to be together with God in contemplative prayer and stillness? Each session includes some music, short readings and-at the centre of it all-shared silence. We end with refreshments and a time of fellowship.

We are an ecumenical group, affiliated to the Julian Meetings network. You are very welcome to join us!

We meet at 2.30pm on the second Monday of each month in St Eustachius' Parish Centre, Plymouth Road, Tavistock.
If you need any further information, please contact Patti Owens on 07507 805 074, or email Bob Owens: .

"Care Cafe - for those experiencing loss"

Lower Hall, Tavistock Methodist Church, every second & fourth Tuesday

This will be run & hosted by TMC and is for anyone at all who is grieving, has been bereaved, who is facing a life-limiting or terminal illness, or who is looking after someone who is seriously ill or dying - in short, for those experiencing loss. We are seeking to provide a safe, friendly environment where folk can have a cup of tea/coffee and a chat, perhaps with one of our volunteers or with other guests who may be going through a similar experience. Or just come to be quiet, in a safe friendly space.

We cannot offer counselling, but those helping will have completed an awareness course and can lend a compassionate listening ear. Please spread the word and mention to anyone you know who may like to come. Contact: .

"English Language Conversation Cafe"

5-7pm, Tuesdays, at the United Reformed Church, Russell St, Tavistock

Major Pam Smith from the Salvation Army is hosting a relaxed and fun conversation cafe for those seeking to improve their English. She is looking for volunteers to help host a table, to make tea and coffee and to bake cakes. The first conversation cafe ran very successfully on Tuesday 28th June and it is planned to run each Tuesday. Do get in touch with Pam if you would like to be involved - .
