About Us
Tavistock has a unique and precious spiritual heritage. In 974AD a Benedictine abbey was established here, and although dissolved in 1539, the Christian impact of those days remains like a sealed well beneath the surface of our community. Tavistock exudes a sense of God's presence and community life and care, which are a lasting legacy of the abbey. Today, whichever church you visit, from Catholic to charismatic, you will discover a sense of the love of God and unity. TACT is the association which proclaims "One Church" sharing together the ministry of God to the community in Foodbank, healing, Street and School Pastors, school mentors, celebrations and much more. The sealed well is being opened again by the spirit of God, so we warmly welcome you to come and visit us at any of our congregations.
